Should You Invest In Stock Today?

I was talking to a group of people today and noticed that there is a great deal of skepticism about the financial markets. This led me to wonder - should you even invest in stock today. A lot of people, myself included see a lot of manipulation going on and we don't like it, nor do we trust it. Overall though, I wouldn't let it deter me from investing in the market. But, it does make an investment strategy like CANSLIM a better option. I believe this because, you can take action based on what the market is doing as well as individual stocks. It teaches you to make decisions based on price and volume action in both.

Because of this, you'll be able to see heavy buying in a stock even if no one is talking about it. You'll be able to see heavy selling in a stock as it's being touted in the media as "the stock to buy". Because of this, you can ignore the stock chatter and focus on what really matters and that is what is actually happening, not what people think is happening.

You've got to be able to form your own opinion about stock market investing.

Everybody starts learning about the market at the same spot. As a beginner. Don't be afraid to be a beginner. Take it one step at a time. Learn about the general market. Learn how to read stock charts. Learn what fundamentals are important. Start using sources for information like the IBD.

More importantly, start creating checklists that will help you streamline what you want to look at each day. By doing this, you'll develop your own investing routine. This is when learning about the market becomes fun. You start to make it on your own. Take the investment philosophy you are studying and start mastering.

The basic principles of the market are the same. It's supply and demand. Prices rise when there is high demand. They fall when demand disappears. Your job is to spot the stocks in high demand and follow the trend.
